Key Responsibilities:

Strategy

  • Lead evolution & delivery of the Group People Experience strategy, including routinely reviewing and refining focus against Virgin’s strategic priorities and objectives working, closely with the Group CPO, Impact Director and Managing Director, Virgin Brand.
  • Achieve C-suite buy-in for any changes to the Group People Experience strategy and report against key plans.
  • Work with the Brand Strategy and Insight team to inform and evolve the People Experience strategy, as well as to interrogate Group performance and enable reporting.
  • Work closely with the Group CPO and Director of Impact to both inform, and help embed and bring to life their broader strategies.

Programmes – Execution & Comms

  • Lead a cross-team and multi-agency project to develop and launch a new global internal engagement platform, including ensuring a compelling proposition and launch campaign that lays the groundwork for platform success and influence on organisational change over time.
  • Drive a vision for Group level cultural evolution, including through a Product led shift facilitated by the new global internal engagement platform; aiming to step change collaboration between Virgin companies and peers, and bring it to life the Virgin family experience. Have significant influence on key senior Virgin company stakeholders including CPOs, PDs and Comms Directors, in order to engage them with the Group strategy and achieve adoption of plans.
  • Work with Group Head of Internal Comms and Brand Activation Manager to guide development of colleague engagement campaigns, and to plan communications for Virgin company People and Culture teams.
  • Guide and support Brand Activation Manager in developing and delivering compelling Group-wide initiatives and events that create distinct and valued Family experiences for Virgin colleagues globally.
  • Drive Virgin company and colleague engagement with the Brand, through regular communications and production of compelling assets and resources that support codification and innovation of Virgin culture.

Account Management - Relationships and influence

  • Anticipate and respond to key Group People risks and opportunities globally, including working with Brand, Purpose and Communications Directors to raise or manage issues in a timely way.
  • Manage relationships with the most senior People Leaders at Virgin companies and strategic topic leads (where those are different contacts) liaising closely with Group CPO, Impact Director and Managing Director, Virgin Brand.
  • Provide expertise and proactively champion focus on Belonging, Wellbeing and Future of Work internally and amongst Virgin companies, including managing regular virtual forums for company topic leads.
  • Work closely with the Brand Development and Creative Capabilities teams, championing the Colleague perspective alongside Consumer considerations across multiple strategic projects, including via monthly 121s with the Regional Brand Development Directors, and with the Brand Director, Creative Capabilities.
  • Engage and directly brief members of the V Team (C-Suite), and other Virgin companies' Leaders, as appropriate to the work.
  • Collaborate with Virgin Unite to support their mission and leverage assets for Virgin companies’ gain, including working closely with the Director of 100% Human.
  • Work with Virgin Group People team to support innovation in our Virgin Group People Experience & Culture (particularly within VML & Red) and to collaborate on internal plans in relation to our People & Culture - including in relation to DE&I.
  • Manage a small team of direct reports and the team’s budget.

  • Insight on Brand Creative, Marketing, Development and Insight
  • Experience in Consumer as well as People engagement preferred
  • Experience working within a matrix structure preferred
  • Experience within a global business preferred
